Greetings fellow pixel pushers!

I'm in need of a template for a site that will auction real estate (homes and properties) online. The site will be called HomeBidXpress, and will use the logo I've posted below.

Since its an auction site, there will need to be a good deal of whitespace for text and graphics. You do not necessarily have to use the colors on the logo -though it would be nice to incorporate the dark green somewhere.

All I would need at the contest's end would be the graphic file - no need for HTML or anything like that, since I'll be adding graphics and other stuff to the finished product.

You pretty much have free reign on the design. Here are some sites my client likes (and why he likes them):

Kinko's - nice blend of whitespace and easy to find everything. This is probably the favorite. If you can make something in a similar fashion - with the curves and such - that would be great!

Int'l Interior Design Assoc. - Design & layout is unique, has an ongoing theme with lines, and adequate space for text and/or graphics/photos

Scholz Design - I thought it was simple yet very professional looking, liked the moving text, white
background, and easy on the eyes.

e-Architect - Liked white background that was enhanced with color on the design

That should give you plenty to work with - and the $150 prize to boot!

Deadline we'll set for September 7th - Could close earlier if we really have a strikingly great entry (and I would expect nothing less from you all!)

Go to it!
-Sherice

Hi Sparkie!
Unfortunatly, I dont work on photoshop (.psd ) but on fireworks (.png ). Is this ok ? Or you only want a .psd template source format...

Regards,
Brian

Good point Brian!

I've updated my original post -- by PSD file, I really mean just the finished graphic file.

Thanks!

Mostly text

There are going to be three main sections within the site (one for homes up for auction, one that discusses the company's marketing services and another for live auctions onsite).

Take a look at www.Bid4Assets.com for a general idea of what this site would most likely be like (as far as content is concerned and the overall "look"). Sorry that I can't point you to a more exact reference, but the truth is, there is no other site quite like this.

The logo should be a part of the site.. not out in the left area somewhere by its lonesome self. Notice how kinko's does their web page..the logo blends well with the site.

On the main page there should be an area for
- welcome text (just a couple of paragraphs)
- A news section (for updates to the site and new listings that are added)
- A section for those three areas mentioned above

And that is about it Please ask me any questions you have about this contest. I'll do all I can to help.

Now, Let's see some entries

Hey there! Here's my entry. It's pretty easy and light when it comes to colors in order for when you put the pictures in it doesn't look too cluttered. I could go for something a little more dynamic, just say the word if this one doesn't suit your needs.

Hi Christian,

Thanks for being the first brave entrant. My client is currently out of town until Monday, so I'll have to wait until then to get feedback on the design. Personally, I like it. I'm not one for too much of the yellowish color, but that might be right up my client's alley (sometimes he's not sure what he wants..hehe)
So I don't want to make judgement on the entries when its finally his call.

But I thank you for your entry and hope to see many more from my fellow artists

Sherice

Hi Brian,

I do like that.. Can you change the orange navigation to dark green though - other than the small piece in the logo, my client is not a big fan of orange

He'll be back in his office on Tuesday, so I can show him the templates then.
Until that time, I can't make too many comments, other than to say that I personally like the work!

Keep those entries coming
