Cool [Designer Chosen] Mar 27 - Illustrated Logo for Power Lounging - $200

Admin code added by Abby - 1FX93983HG613334D

I basically wanted to poke fun at people that work way too hard. Help them realize that itís ok to take some time off. I came up with this concept after working 80 hours a week for three years. I hope this idea catches, cause I need some time off!

Thanks and good luck. I look forward to many different interpretations of my idea.
Design Outpost Creative Brief Worksheet

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Power Lounging
Clothes for kickíen back ďOptionalĒ

What type of product or service do you offer?
Apparel

How long have you been in business?
Startup

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
I want people to feel that itís ok to take a day off without feeling guilty. Not just weekends but the occasional so call ďsickĒ day. When people see the ďPower LoungingĒ logo I want them to feel relaxed, and feel like they should have a day off too.

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
03-27-07

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Looking to market to 18-45 yrs old, hard working professionals, college students and basically anyone who works there butt off.

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Cartoonish, abstract, a little busy but easy to print for shirts. All original artwork, no clip art.

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Iíd like to see colors that make you feel relaxed. Iíd also like a black & white copy. It needs to represent calm, cool and relaxing. Two colors, three if it makes a huge difference. I will most likely print on darker colored shirts but will need something that can be printed on white. Please use pantone colors.

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
My original concept drawling had a non-descriptive character. I like that but would like to see a cleaner, friendlier version. Not so mannequin like. The character is not mandatory but I think it may make it easier for people to connect with. I had him in the middle of a sun to represent summer but thought it would be to specific.

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
That itís ok to take a day off, without feeling guilty. Would not people to not take work so seriously, itís just a job.

What is your tagline or slogan?
Power Lounging, clothes for kickíen back

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
That itís great to work hard but whatís the point if you canít relax. If you put a lot of effort into work or school, you need to relax and recoup. Youíre at your best when youíre fresh.

Where will your new logo be used?
Mainly Clothing but also Stationary, Print Media, Promotional Giveaways, Electronic Media

Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company: Relax

Well I was hoping that somebody would have submitted something by now. I see other people chime in when they donít get anyone submitting suggestion. So I guess the ďsqueaky wheel gets the greaseĒ Is anyone working on this.

Iím all for kickín back and taking a break but the logo is my stopping point. I canít go any further until itís completed.

Thx

Thank you for being the first to submit. I like the character but for some reason it reminds me of a caution or warning sign. I would like the character to look like heís relaxing, not like he just fell.

A friend of mine envisions a character kicking back in a recliner style chair. I thought it was a pretty good idea.

Just to reiterate, I would like to see two color versions but if it makes a huge difference in the over all look a third would be ok.

I will most likely print the color versions on darker shirts and the black version on white shirts.

Thx

I found some logo design styles that I liked.

Iím not too interested in the style of the jewelry logo but itís a good example of a logo that would print well on a black t-shirt. The white portion of the logo could be converted to black, to be printed on white t-shirts.

In t-shirt printing the color of the shirt can be substituted for one of the colors in the logo to help cut down on cost.

Wow, very nice. This design definitely makes me want to relax. I like the color of post 12 and the position of the words in post 13. I like the contrasting colors on post 13, can I see any other color ideaís you may have?

Iíd like to see two color versions for submissions 15, 18 and 19. Iím thinking blue and grey. Not sure what shades of blue and grey. Something that makes image pop out a little, but still represents cool and calm.

For submissions 15 and 18 could you put both hands behind the neck?

Thx

I apologize for the delay in picking a winner. I moved last weekend and have been unable to sit down and make a decision. I will have a decision later today or early tomorrow.

Thank you for you patients.

Iíd like to declare NHR as the winner. If you could repost the designs I believe I wanted a minor change in the wording.

Thank all for your posts.

Sorry about the lag in communications, Iíve moved and still donít have Internet access at home. I have to communicate while at work.

What constitutes as a minor revision? I donít really think much needs to be changed.
