[ProjectComplete]Due June 30th : $200 : Photographers logo
Admin code added by Abby - 5L425872B3753931F
We’re a husband and wife team of photographers, just starting out. We’d like to see a logo that works on both a black (gallery) and a white (blog) background, if the design incorporated an icon of some sorts, that it would stand alone as a watermark. We’d like the unflattened .psd files (as well as the normal files that are sent) of the finished logo for both the black and white backgrounds and also for the designer to provide us with the filled in copyright form.
We look forward to your designs.
Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Twice the Focus
What type of product or service do you offer?
We’re landscape, seascape, architecture and macro photographers. We also use textures with our photos, so some are photoart.
How long have you been in business?
Just starting
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
Branding our work and getting known.
What are your long term goals?
To successfully start selling work for publications with various magazines, newspapers and the like.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
June 30
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
None yet
Who would you like to add to your audience?
Publishing houses, newspapers, magazines, anyone looking for stock photography.
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Clean, simplistic, professional, artistic, creative, maybe with an icon that could also stand alone as a watermark. Please remember this logo represents a husband and wife team, so nothing too masculine or too feminine.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Maybe pastels, we want to use this logo on frames around our work, so nothing that is going to be too distracting from the images. This logo must work on a white background as well as a black background and would like to see both examples.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
This is entirely open and up to the designers interpretation.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Professional, creative, artistic.
What is your tagline or slogan?
Visions with Soul
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
Quality images
Where will your new logo be used?
Internet and printing materials
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
none
List competitive URLs if possible
none
What sets you apart from your competitors?
Not sure.
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
Enthusiastic.
Thanks!

Thanks for the interest and the designs, we certainly like what we see so far.
Giant: Out of these two designs we like the shape you've used in Version 2. Could we see the word "the" in lower case, the word "twice" slightly smaller and the word "focus" slightly bigger and maybe in a colour?
Pracus: Could you make "twice the focus" bolder and the tagline in a different font as it's very hard to read.
Xpressions: Version 1 we'd like to see a black background version, otherwise nothing changed, it's different and we're not sure about this one yet, we need to think on it more.
Version 2: 2tf in a different font as when we look at it, it looks like it says 4f instead and try another shape the box doesn't really work for us. Could we also see this with a black background version as well.
Thanks!

Thanks Pracus, could we see it without the tagline and another example of it without tagline but something else to balance it, (a squiggle, line, or whatever you think adds that finishing touch) if that makes any sense, otherwise I think it would look too top heavy.

Thanks for the wonderful designs everyone, we're delighted with them.
Giant: I like your version 2 alot better, so using the version 2 colours (although the blue could you make a wee bit more pastel please), make the word "the" lower case and just make the size of "focus" bigger. Leave the size of "twice" as it is in version 2.
LutFi: This is nice clean and simple, the only thing that gets lost is the small "t" so maybe we could try that in a different colour so it doesn't get too lost with the background of the circle.
Fran: Again lovely and simple, I really like it as it is, my husband thinks there's something missing but doesn't know what, so if you can work out what, by all means give us another variation. The blue needs to be slightly more pastel blue, the yellow is fine.
Xpressions: Thanks for the variations, we've had a think about them and we feel that they're just not working for us at all. We like your version 2 better. Could we see 2tf in a different font as when we look at it, it looks like it says 4f instead. Could we also see this with a black background version as well.
Thanks for much for your time everyone.

Thanks for the revisions everyone.
Taldo: My husband really likes this design, me, I'm not so sure it's strong enough and I'm not sure about the cameras either.
Fran: A nice version as well, I still like your original one better I think.
Giant: We're both drawn to the original colour used for twice PMS 3115 and also the original size of the word twice we like better, the small "the" works and this last version 2.1 the size of focus is perfect, so if we can marry those back up it's a real consideration. Maybe different fonts for different looks, not sure how they'd go with that symbol as we don't want to lose what it represents.
Everyone: I know we said pastels for colours but we have both been strongly drawn by this colour of PMS 3115, as it works so well on the white background and the black, whereas pastels look wonderful on black but lose details on the white. So we'd like to use that as our main colour and whatever else compliments it for any design.
Are there any other designers considering entering this at all?

Fran: Your version 1 could we see that in Pantone 3115 and where the yellow is Cool Grey 3. Also maybe an example of the boxes as if they were shaded in not perfectly though (like an artist's brush effect/crayon etc), shading could even go over the edges of the boxes a wee bit, in the cool grey as well. Hope you get what I mean.
