We are in need of a unit patch, a logo, and mascot ~

Exact numbers and letters for unit: SER-FL-378

Who: 378th CTS (378th Composite Training Squadron)

Where: New Smyrna Beach, Florida

What: Civil Air Patrol / Air Force Auxiliary

This is our basic Motto:
We stand ready to fulfill the needs of our nation. "Anything, Anytime, Anywhere!" In peacetime and in war, "Semper Viligans" Always vigilant.

The national organization has three primary missions -- aerospace education, cadet programs, which introduce aviation education, physical fitness and moral leadership for ages 12-21; and emergency services, which works to save lives and alleviate human suffering through missions, such as homeland security, search and rescue, disaster relief, humanitarian services, Air Force support and counterdrug missions.

National Headquarters web site: www.cap.gov

Our web site: http://nsbcap.tripod.com/hq.html

examples of other patches:

http://www.marksmedals.com/CAP%20insignia/patches.html
http://concord.nhwgcap.org/images/patch_400-thumb.jpg
http://sq126.cawg.cap.gov/
http://www.capseattlesquadron.com/images/logo.gif
http://www.iawg.cap.gov/DSM/dsmpatch2.gif
http://ilwg.cap.gov/spi/spilogosm.jpg

This is the logo for our neighboring squadron in Daytona Beach: http://logo.cafepress.com/3/634293.gif

Non-Profit/Tax exempt information: http://flwg.cap.gov/Topics.htm

We are very open for ideas for the patch design. It can include military symbols, pictures etc. One exception: NO cartoon characters please.

Since its inception, New Smyrna Beach Composite Squadron has been heavily involved in the three missions of the Civil Air Patrol and has been a leader in the state of Florida.
Since our unit is a composite squadron, it is made up of two distinct, yet united, membership groups: Seniors and Cadets.

The senior-side of the unit is composed entirely of adults who volunteer their time to the Emergency Services and Disaster Relief mission of CAP. In addition, the senior side supports the Aerospace Education, often with the help of cadet-side members.

The cadet-side is composed of cadets, who range in age from 12 to 21 years of age, and a dedicated staff of senior members who provide guidance and oversight to accomplish the Cadet Programs mission of CAP.

I look forward to seeing your ideas/designs real soon. Thank you so much for your help and time.

Charles J. Hamlin 2LT, CAP "C.J."

SeaJay - Is it OK to use the U.S. Air Force symbol in the design as RedLizard has done?

Yeah, if it's not ok then let me know and I can change it. One of the examples (seatle) had it so I figured it was ok to use. Here are some more ideas. Variations...

Wow, I really thought that this would be a challenging project...but it seems that you all are truly are capable of designing ANYTHING! I know a patch design is not the most fun to do, but it will be a very meaningful symbol.

G)(G: I really like the Eagle and the colors. Great idea with the light house, we are minutes away from the Ponce De Leon inlet. A few changes: take out the NSB, FL and replace it with the 378th CTS.

Red Lizard: Awesome! I do like the air Force wings a lot and we are authorized to use them...however I will need to get approval from the Commander on a patch...I would like to use them. I would like to use Three (3) stars which will represent "Anything, Anytime, Anywhere." Or the exact words. OR our CAP motto:"Semper Viligans"
Excellent designs, very impressive.

MUTE DESIGN: It is nice to see an example of what it would look like on a uniform. I do like how you included the motto in the patch, but I am not too fond of the symbol (lion/eagle) in the middle.

El Kootcho: Yes, we are authorized to use the U.S.A.F. symbol; however, I am going to check with our group 9 Commander and get his advice for USAF wing use on the patch. Thank you for pointing that out. The symbol does look sharp!

I will bring these design ideas to our staff meeting tomorrow night and get advice from other CAP Officers and Cadets.

I am hoping that we can find something rather original. We specialize in Search and Rescue ground teams, and cadet training. I wish I had more ideas for you...As far as the mascot or logo go...we would like to use a Bull Dog, a Florida Panther, or a bear. Very open for ideas with that...

Thank You

G)(G: Very Nice ! I especially like the panther. You can replace the "Civil Air Patrol" script with "378th Composite Squdron" (do not included the word traning...I made a mistake...it is not CTS, the new letters are CS) You can replace where the 378th composite training squadron was with the motto etc...

"378th Composite Squadron"

Again, I really like the panther.

This eagle was based on a nice photo. I posted it on another contest(1st american), but eagles were not their focus anymore.

So i´m trying to give her life here.

I used this particular position, because she reminds me rescue. I made the 378th bigger for easy identification...

hheine: I really, really like the eagle. I especially like the "Anything, Anytime, Anywhere" that you included in the design. I like the three stars as well, but they would need to be inside the patch...

dynagirl: Awesome, I like the bull dog, can you change the color of the hat to blue?

Very nice designs...We are reviewing all of them and will have more responses soon.
