[Due TBA] 5x7 ad due Friday $350 [C1 | C2D 02.20]
(Admin code added by Palmer - 3RX5813878363254N)
This is a print ad to go in a publication.
Here's a quick summary of the company (don't use this copy, it's just to help you know what this is for)...
PowerChurch is software that helps church staff manage everything from visitor stats to kid check-in processes to charity accounting.
------
Here's the actual Ad Content:
You want the freedom to
… reach out
… minister to people
… create fellowship
… contribute to your community
PowerChurch Plus was created for just that. We provide you with the tools to increase administrative efficiency and streamline accounting tasks, freeing you up to perform the work that matters.
Membership · Accounting · Contributions · Events Calendar · Check In · Completely Integrated
Install on your PC or network, or access online. Choose which fits your needs.
We provide software tools,
Freeing you up to fulfill your mission.

-------------
Please use istock for photos you want to use (but as FPO) and then I'll go and purchase the high res image for you.
NOTE TO ALL DESIGNERS: please avoid "churchy" looking stock art (Bibles, cheesy pastors, etc.). This should open up some doors for you.
The ad should be created in photoshop, illustrator, or InDesign with vector layers kept unflattened and bitmap images no smaller than 300DPI (accept I know initially the FPO images will have to be low res until I select one from what you guys choose).
Click here and especially notice *PAGE 2* of the PDF -- it is an exact template of the ad showing trim/bleed/live image area and will prevent any misunderstanding in actual size and requirements of ad:
http://artwork.jcacompany.com (links to PDF)
Finally, there is a digital version of the pub that the ad will be in, so you can see examples of the type of ads that exist. But I know anything coming from design outpost will look even better than most of these ads.

I know it's a short turnaround, but at least it guarantees quick cash for someone!
Who's gonna win!
Thanks!
Dave

thanks for giving it a shot. And the quick turnaround especially. Here is some info that should help free you up a little...
NOTE TO ALL DESIGNERS: please avoid "churchy" looking stock art (Bibles, cheesy pastors, etc.). This should open up some doors for you creatively speaking.

thanks. Attractive and professional looking ad.
It may need to capture a little more of what the product is (software)... think of some creative ways to portray this idea.
This is certainly the difficult part about ad design -- as many of you know, each ad has about 2 seconds to capture the reader's attention before he moves onto the next page, so if it's too generic looking, he won't even read the headline, much less the body copy.
I know I'm being very vague about what to actually use, and that doesn't make easy at all, but I really believe you can get there.
Thanks again!

Here are another few versions for you with software component added.
I am not sure whether you actually have a physical disc image or packaging that we could use in this ad?
Thanks,

And one more along the same lines, with some slight alterations to text.

Hello,
I would like to present this as my idea for your ad.
I composited a few images together, in an effort to emphasize the "freedom" aspect of the software. The intergration, and ease of use... so you can "fulfill your mission".
I have shown it trimmed to size (so, the bleeds are not visible - but are in the original file.)
I look forward to your feedback.
Respectfully,
Kimber

please keep them coming.
New deadline is Nov 5th because we missed the press date on this last mailing, so we'll try again for the next one.

Client, please provide feedback on the current designs.
Also, is 11.05 your press deadline? Do you need finals from the designers earlier than that date?

We're actually fine right up to the end of Nov, so no panic there. I know you can't move forward without some direction and feedback, so please bear with us as we decide what direction we want to go.
More to come soon!
Thanks for your efforts so far,
Dave

finally got some feedback from client...
1.) They want the type to be smaller so whatever the graphic focus ends up being will pop -- they're saying the current designs are too busy
2.) Do not use disks or disc boxes... the software will now be offered in a web-based platform, so they don't want to focus on the hard copy
3.) PLEASE DO NOT COPY THE SAMPLE AD BELOW, but this is what they've done in the past that they liked. And don't use a laptop either. But at least you can see what they've had and previously liked.
I didn't show it before because I wanted you guys to take a shot at something totally unique, so please don't let this limit your creativity:

should I assume my delay has ended this project? Or with the new feedback will I see some new designs? Please let me know what else I can do to help in the process.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave,
Here is another go from me.
I have made the design a lot simpler, not too busy and with smaller text as per your specifications. The background image is a stock image so if my design was chosen this image would be purchased and would be much cleaner.
Let me know if this is more along the lines of what you are expecting.
Thank you!

thanks guys for jumping back in.
The dove one is a little cheesy (again, we're trying to avoid typical Christian symbolism).
The one with the relaxed guy doesn't convey this is software for churches.
To get this ad pointed in the right direction again, please try to show this is web-based software (maybe try a monitor/screen or something). I'll see if I can get a screenshot of the web-based software from the client.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks,
Dave
