Hello everyone,

I’ve seen all the great work here, and hope you can help us!

The name of our group is Get Real Student Ministries. The name Get Real is a reference to Ephesians 5:8 “For though your hearts were once full of darkness, now you are full of light from the Lord, and your behavior should show it!”

Our group is about being real with our relationship with JC. Because you can’t convince anybody else they need Jesus until, you show them you need Him too.

We are looking for a logo that would visually tell people what we are about. We’ll use the logo for print media, powerpoint presentations, tshirts, a website, etc. We would like to be able to get a black/white version that looks good printed on laser printers. Would like to keep it to 2/3 colors and needs to appeal to teenagers (Jr. / Sr. High). We’re located in a rural area, so edgey surfing/skating styles won’t pass the test with the group.

One last thing, our catch phrase is “Believ’n it, Liv’n it”.

Have fun with it!
Steve

WoW! :o Thanks for the early submissions.

Here's some feedback:

VisualSense - Like the colors and style of the 2nd logo and the font style of the 3rd one. The idea of the light source is good, but it needs something else, but I'm not sure what it is.

Mowling - Like the colors and creative twist of your first submission. I am seeing an eye with the crown of thorns, right? Can you try some additional fonts? The second submission may be a little to "techy" for the group.

Thank you both so much for what you've done so far. You are a blessing.

That's It...a crown of thorn
I know the word says to carry your cross...not put on your crown of thorns but I think it holds the same concept.
I would have used a graphic relating the "carrying your cross" message but I have already used it for another youth ministry contest.
So I will go back the "illustrator board"

Hello Steve,

Here's my "take" on this. Trying to really show the , “For though your hearts were once full of darkness, now you are full of light from the Lord, and your behavior should show it!” part.

Let me know what you think.

I really like what I'm seeing...

GoodHaus- I really like the overall concept of #1. The tag line is a little big and the font is a little to feminine. I like the graphics of #2, but the colors need more of a punch.

Mowling- Can't wait to see what you come back with!

VisualSense-The overall look is great. The graphics still just doesn't quite reach out and grab you. Is there a way to make the tail on the "g" come below the block?

FuseDesign-I like the way you captured the meaning of the scripture that's really good, but I'm afraid the guys in the group may find it a little feminine.

Hope I'm not being to picky.

You all are truly amazing!

Hi all,

Sorry for the late response, the w/e was crazy.

VisualSense and Mowling, I think you are on the right track. I showed your designs to the group last nite and they LIKED the way it was headed and offered the following suggestions:

VisualSense - Rather than a cross, how about a person? Can you change the color scheme (something with "more pop")?

Mowling - The group liked the 1st and 2nd. Here is their request: For #2 can you change the image to the person kneeling and make Get Real look like two words, either with fonts or colors (like the rest of the logos)? Can you use the same kneeling image in #1 and make the fonts match #2. Then finally can you show these two in multiple colors. By the way they really like the colors of #1.

I meet with the kids again on Wed. Thanks for you hard work.

Hi all,

Met with the group last night and things are really taking shape. As each of you has spent alot of time and energy the group wants to first say, THANK YOU.

Here's the comments/suggestions we came up with:

VisualSense - #2 on your last post was a big hit , the group liked the fonts, colors and overall design. They didn't really get the image - can you do more of a silhouette of a teen or teens "liv'n it"?

Mowling - Going from left to right, they like #3 and #7. The Blue/Green color scheme is a big hit . What would #3 look like with the "square" image you used in #7? Also they liked the oval, but said it needed "more of a kick", but the points didn't do it.

FuseDesign - The look just isn't what the group is going for... From previous posts, I think you can get a feel of the direction the group is headed.

I don't want to be critical of any designs because you are all very talented, just remember we are trying to please a bunch of teenagers. :o

Thanks again,
Steve

The group has looked at the last two submissions and after alot of discussion they have decided to go with Mowling's designs. VisualSense it was a tough decision your designs were great and thank you and God Bless you for all your efforts.

Mowling - the kids have a request. Is it possible to get both the second and last design? They would like to be able to use them together. Would it be possible to swap the image colors on the second.

Palmer - Thank you and all your designers for this truly awesome site. They all deserve a well deserved pat on the back. We'll be back after the first of the year. Everone have a Merry Christmas!

God Bless,
Steve

Mowling,

We would like the second design with the blue and green reversed on the graphic. Then we would like the last design. All to be in the blue/green color scheme and then in black/white.

Please send the files to: thetruth_cbm[at]sbcglobal.net

Again, thanks for the work!
Steve
