[Project Complete] - We are here map - $75
(Admin code added by Palmer - 4C4617763J0024202)
I need a 'we are here' map designed.
The map should be suitable for printing at about two inches square, but doesn't need to be square.
Two examples of the kind of thing I'm after:
http://www.cargo-london.com/info
http://www.jerseylavender.co.uk/content/489/Find-Us/
The map can be two colour, black & white as per those examples, or more colourful and graphical depending on what you feel fits the design and the budget.
The attached image shows the roads I need included.
You can see a map of the area at
http://www.flashearth.com/?lat=50.85....9&r=0&src=msl
(Note the colour/style of the A27 and M27 labels, which you may want to immitate - they reflect standard UK road signs. If you want the exact font it is called 'Transport Heavy' and a free version can be download at http://www.cbrd.co.uk/fonts/ ).
The finished map does not need to be fully to scale. It is up to you whether the map is fully 'accurate' or takes a role more like that of the London tube map - merely indicative of the actual geography.
I've put a two week deadline on this but I really need something ASAP.

Here is my take on your map. I couldn't quite read some of the street names... so let me know what I missed.
Thanks,
Stephanie

@Boggins, ideally yes. My immediate need is will be used larger, but I have a future need for a 2x2 map and a tight budget so I'm trying to fill both needs at once. However, I am prepared to compromise with what works best. The immediate need is to fit about 4" by 4".
@BlueCherry, my favourite so far. The we are here 'badge' is too ambiguous about which road we are on - it should be on St Margarets Lane. Note that Cartwright Drive turns left and joins bac into the A27 at the roundabout. Can you add detail of other roads at the roundabout top-left, especially the A27 running westwards, as well as show the A27 extending eastwards, the B3334 southwards and the roundabout on Warsash Road. Some minor naming changes but we'll worry about that later.
@glyphica, that's too much of a literal interpretation of my sketch map for my taste, but feel free to have another go.
I'll post a reminder of the ma link - note you can zoom in to check details: http://www.flashearth.com/?lat=50.86....5&r=0&src=msl

I've picked BlueCherry as the winning designer.
In addition to the changes in my last message:
Wanasash Lane should be Warsash Road.
Farnham should be Fareham.
Bridge Smart should be Bridge Street, and is the name for the eastern end of that road. The western end should be Common Lane.
Thanks,
Mike

I have most of the corrections made, but I am not seeing 337 on that map or where A27 runs north/south. Do you have another map option I can look at?

Here's a google maps link for the area http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?client...ed=0CB8Q8gEwAA
B3334 (not 337) is the road running to the bottom-right. (The map should show this extending to the south).
The additions to A27 are east/west: West from the roundabout (labelled Southampton Road on google map). And East from the junction with the B3334.
Also, can you reinstate the stub to Warsash Road running bottom-left from Common Lane junction, add the stub of Primate Road from the Warsash Road roundabout and move the we are here marker to show the business on the left (west) side of the road.
In the area where you have the text on the left, how about repeating the 'indicator' and saying 'We are here', perhaps in a box-out.

Are you still out the BlueCherry? It's a week since I chose you designer, the project completion date is long gone and you seem to have given up on giving me updates.
Can any of the mods get this sorted?

Hi,
You posted your most recent feedback on 12/09 - your project due date - so I didn't even have that until after your due date. It's been 4 days since then.
I did not see a notification from DO that feedback had been posted.
Here are the changes you requested. I can make more changes, but not until Wednesday night because I am taking finals all day tomorrow.
You can notify me of any changes requested by email (sales @ bluecherrygraphics.com --remove spaces). I just happened to look in here tonight and see the feedback.

Not getting notifications seems to be an issue with DO at the moment. I appreciate this isn't the most important thing in your life if you are doing exams at the moment, but I've always aimed to reply within 24 hours (except once when DO was down all day), but it seems to take a few days to get updates back.
Anyway, back to business. I've attached an image to show the changes to make:
1) Delete roads and text in orange areas (leave stubs outside orange areas).
2) Move A27 label to right.
3) Move red we are here icon so it is abutting the side of the road on which the business is based.
4) Move Common Lane text to location as shown.
5) Correct B334 to B3334 (three 3s).

Hi,
I sent a link to your files via private message.
I included 3 versions:
-the color one shown
-a b/w version
-a b/w version without border
For each version, print ready AI, EPS, and PDF files are provided, as well as high res TIFF and JPG at 2" square of each version.
The AI, EPS, and PDF are 100% vector and can be scaled to any size without loss of quality.
