[Due Dec 16th] - Case Study/Flier Template. - $150

(Admin code added by Palmer - : 55F27967CD953554H)

I am looking for a designer to provide a standard case study/brochure template which I can then place text into using indesign. We have assigned $150 to this.

The project needs to adhere to our company colours (see our website at www.evolutionjobs.co.uk) and continue that look and feel. I can supply the logo in illustrator format (should be attached).

I need space for:

Customer quotations, body text and images.

It needs to be flexible enough to be used as a basis for case studies, information sheets and fliers.

As discussed at the top, I need to be able to edit this in Adobe Indesign so will need the source files.

Thanks

Dan

Holy due date, Batman!
I'm sorry I just saw this post - what version of InDesign are you using?
Please advise, and I will work on it tonight, when I get home.

Hi Dan,
Unfortunately, I had some things come up tonight that were unexected, so I was unable to give this project as much time as I would have liked (for now).
I did come up with a single page layout - I intended to create a backside, and perhaps an alternate layout, to possibly accomodate the sorts of things you may want to publish.

For now, I'll have to present the initial front, and work on the others tomorrow.

It's InDesign CS3 - if that's a problem, I also have access to CS5. I've laid it out according to an A4 sheet, with bleeds.
I'll await you feedback.
Thanykou kindly,
Kimber

Right Guys.

Aaaah responses! I was beginning to give up. Thanks guys.

The date on this can bleed a little bit, I'd like this sorted by the time I go off for Christmas (Wednesday next week).

This is for CS5 but I'm not fussy as long as I can open it and edit the content.

I have attached an example of the sort of thing I need (from work I did in my previous place of work). If we could make something similar but with Evolution branding and colours etc that would be ideal. I am looking to have more space to write (ie: reduce the Black without ruining the design).

Thanks for your ideas so far, I hope this clears it up.

Hi there! Here is my idea for your brochure template. Did you want this to be just one page or two? I'm not sure how many pictures, quotes, and body text you will be inserting. So far I have just done one page, but if you like this concept I can do a second one if needed.

The photo and text are just random as placeholders and would be replaced by your own.

I look forward to your feedback. Thanks!

I'm Back! :)

Hi Dan,
Here's what I've come up with:
SIDE "ONE"
It shows an area for a headline, and the option to have multi quotes or photos along the left side bar...

And the second side...
There is a small graphic placed outside the page that is essentially the double-dot from your logo, which I've used as an inline graphic to create a custom bullet.
This side also shows two photos and one quote (the photo of course, can be changed - it's my bike, and I like using it as a filler).

If you could let me know how you feel about it, I'd appreciate it.

It's InDesign 5.5, so I may have to quickly re-set everything in CS3 to be sure you're able to open it, but that's no big deal. I'll worry about it later

Amends.

Thanks Sarah/Cre8tor

Both designs are good starts. However feedback:

Sarah, can you please use more Evolution blues (darker) and the logo needs to be more stripped (ie not the gif on top of the light blue). Please narrow the top and the sides to maximise the space to enter information.

Kimber, again a great start but it too 'flashy' Can you simplify the top bar (ie: less if the stripes) and get rid of the 'arty' left side bar, reduce the size of the font, centralise the quotes and image. Make the logo smaller and have space for a title "Case Study : ABC Co." or "White Paper : IT Recruitment Industry"

Both are getting there, thanks for you help. I will be in tomorrow morning (GMT) until 1pm then I am off for the Christmas period. I will attempt to get feedback to you guys and get this moving in the morning but it depends on time constraints. I will be back on the 3rd January so if this isn't in a state I can move on it may be after Christmas now.

I'll look forward to getting your new efforts. The design needs to be double sided.

Thanks for all your time in this.

Dan

Hello Dan,
I appreciapte your feedback, and am happy to make changes based on it. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) I work during the day, so I'll be unable to do anything until later this evening.
So, I'll be unable to help you before your holiday, but I'll be here in the New Year.
Have a terrific Christmas!
Kimber

Sarah,

I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year. I am now back and trying to get this finalised.

Can you please put this into A4 format for me so that I can review it?

I need to throw it past one of the directors for feedback.

Kind Regards

Dan

Hi Dan,

Thank you, I hope you had a great Christmas too!

I will change the size to A4 instead of letter size. I do have a question though, can the design be in A4 landscape orientation (horizontal like it is) or does it need to be in A4 portrait orientation?

Thanks!
Sarah

I am going to show you both ways so that you can see the difference. The layout changes quite a bit when changed to Portrait mode. Please just let me know which you prefer and if you'd like to see anything else. Thanks.

Sarah,

Here is the feedback I received.

We need space for address and other information, reducing the no. of quotes will fix this.

The top blue is too large, can we maximise real estate for text?

There needs to be space for a company logo to go along with ours. Please reduce the size of ours. So even if people do not know us as a business they can identify with the business from their peer group.

Thanks for your efforts so far.

Dan

changes

Front:

Can you expand the light Blue, top bar. Keep the Case study title bar the same size but combined make them 50% of the hieght of the image.

On the left, please make the line divider a plain white line.

Back:

Please implement the same top bar rules on this side too but we don't need the Evolution Logo or the 'Case Study' Text.

Can the images on the left be the same size as the front? Or will this look odd?

Can you make the quotes the same font weight as the front.

Can you please post these in A4 too?

Thanks for your work so far,

Dan

Hi Dan, sure I am happy to make those changes for you.

As for your comment about posting them in A4, do you mean A4 portrait orientation? The ones above are A4 but in landscape orientation. If you could clarify, that would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi Dan,

First are the A4 landscape files. For the back, I've shown 2 versions.. one is with the pictures larger (same size as the front image), and the other is with the photos the same size as they were before. I had to change the top image on the second version as the other one didn't work at that size due to the proportions.

I'll post the A4 portrait files shortly.

A4 Portrait.. The blank spot on top right hand side of the front is for the other logo you mentioned. If you have that logo, I can place it in to give you a better idea of how things will look.

Please just let me know if you'd like to see any other changes. Thanks!

Sarah,

Do you have the A4 versions of this? the ones you posted yesterday were nothing like these.

Or were you talking about this looking odd with the graphics proportions?

Thanks

Dan

Hi Dan,

The files in post #21 are A4 landscape orientation (11.69 inches wide x 8.27 inches high).

The files in post #22 are A4 portrait orientation (8.27 inches wide x 11.69 inches high).

I didn't change the size of any of the files from how they were in previous posts.

In post #21, what I was referring to with the proportions was the photos on the left hand side bar in the third version. You said you wanted to see the photos the same size (height) as the photo on the front left hand side bar. The photo I originally had didn't work when making it larger, so I swapped with a different photo for that second version of the back (and I also had to delete several of the quotes because they would no longer fit). I also showed the back with the photos the same size as they were before and all the quotes still in place in that same post.

Thanks.

Dan, I also wanted to mention that the sizes might appear slightly different in my posts as I may have saved the proofs at a slightly different resolution (quality). They are definitely all A4 size though. It may just be difficult to tell from the scaled down proof sizes that you see on here.

I'm attaching a PDF with all the current proofs. There are 5 pages in this file - The front and two different versions of the back in A4 landscape, and the front and back in A4 portrait. You should be able to see the size better from this. I hope this helps.

Sarah,

I understand abot the view being knocked out don't worry.

I like the one on Page one but it is landscape. Can the A4 version have this look and feel, maybe move the quotes down or something?

Thanks

Dan

Hi Dan,

Thank you for explaining. Here's a slightly different layout. Please let me know what you think. I tried to keep the design as close as possible to the landscape version, but obviously due to the proportions of the paper, several adjustments had to be made.

Anyway, please just let me know if there are specific things you'd like to see changed. Thanks
