Company name is 68 1/2

Target maket ages 18-25.

Company designs trendy clothing for both men and women.

Competitors are Abercrombe, Gap, and American Eagle.

It has not been decided whether store will be stand alone or whether the brand will be sold in department stores.

We are looking for a design that will give our product instant brand recognition.

This design will be the trademark of the corporation.

It should reflect the style and confidence of the product.

Initially, we are looking for something using the number 68 1/2 but anything goes so be creative.

We will critique entries and request modifications as we see fit.

Contest ends on or before Friday, April 16.

Initial Feedback-

Ratbaggy- we like your second concept it is definitely a work in progress.
1. You need to incorporate 1/2 into logo. Possibly in the lower right leg of the eight as a white silhoutte.
2. Dimensions- either moderately shorten the height or expand the width. looking for a 2:1 ratio height to length.
Please expand on this design.

Pennyln- We like the look but currently it is not bold enough to be a brand label. However, out of all the designs this looks the most like a brand label and it also reflects our target market.
We are curious to know what the outer ring is, could you explain your logo.

Dynagirl- we like the color variations. As a label, it must be easily interchangeable in regards to color, however it does look a bit generic.

blackspot and cadii- in our opinion, your initial designs dont appeal to our target market. we are targeting the 18-25 age bracket. Also looking for a logo that makes a statement.

moz- your designs are very large and bulky. We need something more sleek.

To all- WE ARE VERY APPRECIATIVE OF ALL THE DESIGNS SUBMITTED SO FAR. FINDING THE RIGHT DESIGN IS VERY IMPORTANT TO US. WE WILL BE GIVING CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, BUT WE ARE VERY IMPRESSED WITH ALL THE DESIGNERS POSTS.
Keep in mind these things- Target market is 18-25 your olds. We like using the number instead of spelling it out. We are interested in seeing the logo over a subtle background.

After looking again at your potential competitors logos, and being in the business myself, I decided to try something very simple and to the point.
Question...
Are you planning on using a stitched or silk screen label?

Here is the start for the fashion label,

The concept was to create a SIMPLE mark which could appear eye-cathcing to young target group. I began from choosing the font . I picked up Helvetica. Despite the fact it is widely used, it still can be described as a contemporarily and fresh looking. However in order to make it a bit more dynamic, and fun, I decided to rotate the sign by 45 degrees. It could be a nice start to build the whole identity upon. In the end, the logo was designed to be easily readable when sized down, and still render well on cloth, paper, screen...

Regards,
Piotr Karetko

Here is the mark itself:

This is typography test. For example the banner promoting new collection...

The colour of the background square might change regarding to specific clients` group, for example: men - women.

Hi,

here is a suggestion, some variations and shirt mockups included.

Idea obviously was to combine the 6 and 8 to shape a unique symbol.

Feedback appreciated

Thanks,

Frank

simple variation on second concept...

it's not as strong as the original design on the "68" concept, but thought I'd throw up a quick addition to show I AM working on it.
post again soon

feedback on the other concept would be great too.

Beatz- our feedback on your design is that it is definitely unique. We like that you have chosen to create an artistic symbol. Unfortunately, it just doesn't feel right. You are definitely creatlve and I would like to see another design that uses a different symbol for the logo.

Note- Out of all the designs posted so far, we like ratbaggy's style the best. The reason we like ratbaggy's work best is it is unique and has the potential to convey an image.

Ratbaggy, we liked the blue logo (no grunge) better than the orange logo. We thought the orange logo resembled mickey mouse with the 3 circles when viewed at an angle.
The blue logo would look excellent as a patch on jeans or shorts, but I dont know about on a screened t-shirt.
We are still interested in your second design as well as anything else you can come up with. We would really like to see the fraction 1/2 in white down the lower right black leg of the eight.

Piotr- we like the versitility of the logo, but are afraid it looks too much like one of Nautica's existing logos. We agree that it does look nice on a tag.

Thanks again to all for your hard work. We are still very interested in any and all logos you can design.
