[Designer Chosen] Five Star Lawn Care Logo - $100

(Admin code added by Palmer - VF6141426)

HI guys & girls,

Ive been wanting to get my logo redone for about a year now and wasnt quite sure where to even go then a couple of days ago a came upon this site and now I know where I need to be.

First a little backround info... Ive built my company from the ground up and I am a firm beliver that quality stems from the initial image that the client sees of your company...ive always had late model trucks, new equipment every couple of years and clean-cut employees. I really didnt pay much attention to the the first thing the customer looks at...the logo. My old logo is plain and boring, it was a product of a first t-shirt and just never went away. Now its time for a change

Basically what I'm looking for is an all purpose logo, it will be used on everything from our trucks, website, invoicing, t-****s, jackets, hats...you name it and it will be on it. Our trucks & Trailers are white, Black or silver. Our apperal is solid and we like to get them in Grey, white, black and dark green.

The logo:

Likes:
I would like to stick with black white or silver as the base color and green as an accent color. I Would like to see some designs with and without a star. It has got to stand out and be very easy to read. It also has to look good in black and white B/C all of our invoicing and some advertising is done this way. It has to project the overall image of my company and provide name recognition. Designs can be wild or classic...I guess I'll have a better idea once we get into it. no cartoon characters

Heres my web site www.fivestarlawncare.com

Good luck guys and girls, I will look forward to coming home from a long days work and possibly seeing the future of my company....see ya around 6:30pm

Why wouldn't you want something with five stars?
Your name is "Five Star Lawn Care" A logo with five stars would be smart. The public would see 5 stars and match the name in their mind.

It's an automatic connection. Why make it any harder than it is to connect with your customers? Marketing is a difficult business. When you have such a logical connection, why would you fight it?

Why did you go with the name Five Star in the firstplace?

Combining both the astrological theme, and the landscaping theme to form a tree/leaf composed of five connected stars (like a constellation).

Regards,
-Chris

What happened to the 'Dont' section, Five Star?

I'm trying to see if those things are still off limits.

Thanks

sorry about not being in to answer questions tonight...I took away the donts b/c I wanted to give free range. so bring on the designs

muvment: not sure if im liking the whole astrological them but I do like the clean and bold look that the design gave...just not liking the starwars font or the astrological things

pennyln: I like the writing but a little brighter green....but the logo just looks a little too home computerish for my taste....I am loking for somethink a little more...well I guess what im trying to say is im looking for something that looks like I payed someone to produce it. I took a look at your portfolio snd I know that you are more than qualified to produce work of the quality that im looking for.

Good night everyone this site is great im so excited to see what everyone can come up with....im sure its going to be a long hard decision on my part.

Here is an idea, but the pattern of the stars will change since Bill's (pennyln) are in the same pattern. Just wanted to know if you like the style of the star and/or the layout.

Blackspot...looking for somthing with a little more edge

Revalation: your definatly on the right track....I like the 2 tone green look a lot, maybe a defiierant graphic though.

Shnickerdoodle: the idea of the star going in to the 5 is a differant concept...would like to see what it would look like with it coming out of the curve of the 5...and maybe some some black in there instead of all that blue. looking good though

heres a logo that has a nice feel to it ...and again the 2 tone green is really nice.

Here you are. Simple, shrinks well, has both a font and iconic representation, and looks good in simple black/white:

Here is one of the edit's you requested. I'll move the star to the curve part of the 5 and post that a little later....

dynagirl and shnickerdoddle your logos are looking the best so far...I would like to see maybe some logos with some grass blades like other contests that I have seen...bear with me I know im being bossy but im just trying to get a feel of what we are looking for to represent our company for years to come.

when I get some time this weekend I will look through some other contests and post some logos that I really like. As you can imagine this is a really busy time of year for us..and with the Red Wings in heated battle right now that really ties up most of my nights....I will do the best I can to check in at least twice a day.

This site is by far one of the coolest sites I know of....I will be surfing the pages of it long after this contest has ended.

hello...sorry about not replyinng at all this weekend but has just been crazy this week.

im going to try to make some suggestions on some of the logos that im interested in and also post some logos that I have reviewed in other contests and have liked the feel of.

well here goes nothing.

Dynagrl...I like both of the logos in your first submision a lot. I would like to see what a different shade of green would look like....more of a kelly green. I like the logo with the star but was wondering if I could see a version with the five star above the star like the lawn care is below it in the original...Maybe play with some fonts and maybe some grass like in the Totally Green logo. and maybe a few graphics on a black backround with silver instead of the white.

Moz...I think I like your logo 2nd logo....the red is kinda throwing me.....maybe you could switch up the colors and maybe define the star a bit.

pennyln...I like the concept of putting a star in place of the A in your 1st logo in the second set....im thinking it needs a focal point...deffinatly want to see more.

shnickerdoodle...still would like to see that 5 with the star coming out of the curve of the 5.

Allright heres a bunch of logos that I was impressed with....hope this helps.
