Logo for Promotional Products & Advertising Specialties Company
Prize: "New $225.00" & Promotional Items

Top of the Morning too you…

I have two companies and I need Logos for both. This is one of two contests that I’ve launched. The other is for the Decorative Concrete Company.

“No two minds ever come together without, thereby, creating a third invisible, intangible force which may be likened to a third mind.
Napoleon Hill
Think and Grow Rich

Name: Irish Crew Promotions
Owners: Randall & Carree Henry
Business: Promotional Products and Advertising Specialties
Web Site: www.irishcrew.com (The site will be changing, and will take on more of the friendlier style of a friend’s site. (www.nepromotions.com).
Colors: Two to three colors and must also look good in Black & White.
Contest Ends: June 11th
Prize: $225.00 & All Designers that submit entries into contest; I will print ½ dozen golf balls with your business logo (one color). The winner, I will print 1 dozen golf balls and 25 Letter openers with your Logo or Business Name. (Email Afterwards – contest2004@proinbox.com

Company Info: We are a small family business. Irish Crew Promotions is an Ad Specialty Company that sells promotional items and apparel. We help businesses to attract new customers, retain existing customers and increase average sales. Our customers range from a small business to a fortune 500 company. We are unique too the point that we also own and operate our own press, where 95% of companies like us, only broker their business. We all broker, but we can get the blanks and print if we choose.
We will have our own screen printer by the end of summer. We offer Art work and have many sources to use. I will be signing up for the Reseller Program with this site. I can take a customers art and I will bring it into Corel Draw 11 and fix it If I have too. Some I will run thru EuroVector for Vectorizing (better than Corel Trace).
We operate best under the “AQLR”
All Quantities
Quick Turn-Around
Local Service
Reasonable Cost

Thoughts on the Logo: We really want this to be a fun Logo, but it must give a big company appearance and Trust. I want that look, that when anyone gets one of our cards or handouts or is given one of our golf balls, which they will look at the Logo and maybe giggle, but also know these guys know what there doing.
I do “not” want the four leaf clovers, shamrocks, pot of gold or leprechauns. Now saying that, I’m not forbidding you from using them, if it puts this Logo in a high class.

The Crew: I’m Irish if you did not get that. I run two businesses and my wife is Active Duty Army. She has just less than two years until retirement. When her retirement happens I want her and I to run this full time. We are in Colorado Springs, Colorado and we plan on moving (maybe Vegas) at her retirement. I spent 13 years active duty and just could not take the politics any longer. We have a 15 year old, a 13 year old, then a big gap now a three year old named Erin, and our newest seven month son. We named him, Nevan Oisis Henry. I wanted his middle initial to be an “O” so it would be Nevan O Henry.

Top of the Morning to you...
Boy did I have one of those days yesterday. I could not wait until someone posted an entry. It was like waiting for the moment that we open Christmas presents. I was on pin and needles. Then the first post from Pennyln kicked it off and it was real cool.

pennyln: Thank you for being first to post. My wife and I like it but we need more of an item in the Logo. It really did make me feel it was an Irish theme.

blackspot I do like the way you added the 4 leaf clover, and that is what I'm saying, to everyone. Use those typical Irish clichés and make them high class and we don’t have a problem. This did not do it for me and I think it is the clover. Maybe we can try something else there.

Just G I liked it but it made me feel like a military patch I once wore, that hat the black widow hour glass in it. I did think it was a great start.

Huhhso This is the first time I have seen your work, and I liked the colors on the top right. I do need more of a "thing" in the logo that makes a statement. The harps did not do it for me but that is a good logo.

I was so glad to see all of you in this contest, and I really have been watching all of you for a solid month now.

Direction: I said I didn’t want those typical clichés unless you could give it a high class and blackspot showed that it could be done. These are on the right track and I don’t know how else to critique them.
I went out looking on the web for Irish Crew and found a Catholic School that has a row team that is called Irish Crew. They use the Notre Dame Fighting Irishman, and I would love something like that. I would not want him to have that fighter look. That can be something to go on, but don’t make that change your direction with what you have in mind. Remember that you all have that creative side of your mind working and mine was shut off due failure to pay the bill…

Make me work my butt off printing golf balls for you all...

Enter the contest!

Hi. Just thinking about how it will look on promotional products. I mean, if you're willing to put our logo on a golf ball, shouldn't we be willing to do the same?

blackspot I'm sorry this one did not rock my boat. But, I do say blackspot tip my boat over, tip it over...

arthouse I really did not like the box effect. When I look at the next two it made me think they were just flowers. I have to look at things from a distance because it is small on our give aways.

To all who have not entered: When you enter you will at least get 1/2 dozen logo golf balls. If you have not ever gotten a golf ball with a logo of any type, just wait. I have them with others logos on shelves, and it is cool. Then you will get one of them and you will have it sitting next to your computer. I don't know why this happens, but you will see when you get them in the mail.

Please don't think I'm begging, I just want to share something other than monitary reward with everyone.

Wow, I'm getting flashbacks to the 70's with that rock the boat reference
I'm still thinking for you.
BTW, I had the same idea as Aaron (arthouse) and was about to post it when I saw his. Guess I won't now .
I'll be back.

My entry. Like Aaron said, you're gonna put ours on a golf ball, so....

And a cue ball too...

Carl: I like the concept and would like to see the emblem done different somehow. Make the text more Irish looking. Putting it on the back of the head I do believe I have to add something to your goodie bag. We do print on almost anything…
Mike: I like logo one but don't care for that format on the second entry. Make the first entry a bit more Irish text and we can look at that one. Entry three the clover design was very good. I think the colors need a change and the text a bit more Irish look.
Huhhso: First two round logos did not like. Then the next three we did not like the first one but the next two were good. I like the derby in number two. The third one is that a light bulb above Irish? It is a good logo. Those two will make the tournament.
Matt: These are just a bit to simple for my taste.
Jason: Is that an I above the name?
Raja: Yes, Fun but Corporate.

"I" inside of a circle making the dot look similar to a "C". Trying to avoid the Irish connection this time.

Arthouse: I can say I like the top one, and I think I do because the drop shadow and the text is not half bad..

Mike: They are great looking. I do say that I look at #5 and it looks very professional and I feel that style. If to change it what could we do to it, to make it maintain that professional look and also give the viewer that chuckle. My wife said change the color of #4 to have some gold in it, and I say to that that I liked #3 with the word promotions placement better.

Added the gold and modified "promotions". Not sure how to add the "chuckle" element that you're looking for.
