Lightbulb [Project Complete] Flash Introduction - $270

(Admin code added by Michael - WY078024B)

Hi All,

I need a flash 'splash' movie (introduction movie) created for a website of a client.

Goal
To 'WOW' users. It's really just has to be 'flashy'.

Theme
The theme needs to incorporate Ancient Egypt yet also be very modern and 'techno'.

Size
I'm open to different sizes - but I would put the maximum movie dimensions at 500x500. I'm not sure what the average file size for a flash movie is, but I would put the maximum at 300kb? (let me know if this is too low/high)

Cartoony?
If you think you can make it work - go for it.

What can I provide?
Only the logo - you can get colour ideas from this as well.

Other
One of the client's ideas was to have a tomb opening.. that's about as far as it went.

Deadline
I need this done ASAP. I would prefer that we start with some 'draft' versions first. Seeing as the client (and myself) can offer so little guidance, I don't want anyone wasting their time. So basic animations and story boards are fine for a first submission.

As you can see, I don't have a lot of direction to give. I'm hoping that the designers here will be able to come up with some good ideas. Considering the theme, I think you can have a fair bit of fun with this one.

Please let me know if there are any questions and I will do my best to answer them. Looking forward to seeing some entries.

I have attached the logo and an original flash movie which was *not* 'flashy' enough. It might give you an idea of how 'good' the movie needs to be.

/edit - Have attached files in my post below

I can't attach the file because of the upload file size limit, but you can download the logo in *.eps format here:
Download Logo

If this still isn't suitable please let me know and I'll see what otehr files I can get hold of.

Hi,

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier.

Thanks for the logo. I have some ideas for your flash. I'm leaving town today and I'll get back on Sunday.

I can start to work on this on Monday.

Cheers

Just wondering if I am going to see any entries for this? I do need it ASAP so if there are no interested designers I have to organise something else, so please let me know.

hi,

seemed like a fun project!

heres my concept. i modelled some 3d pyramids and mapped the logo over... did some afx work + sound... kinda techno-egypt..lol

http://www.firstwavemedia.com/ra/

rolls in at 233kb very good for this kind of eye candy!

the 3 tag lines can be changed easily via flash....

thanks!

Hi Firstwave, thank you for the entry. I will get back to you with some feedback.

Deplex, I was hoping for more entires by now so I'm glad I hadn't set a quick deadline. At this stage, it's just until I find one that the client likes, that being said, we are in a hurry for this to be done!

As for some text phrases, if you could just use some general words or latin pahrases (whatever) for now that would be good.

Thanks.

I wasn't sure about size limits.. I think 600kb would be the limit? (Like I said I'm not experienced with flash). 1MB would definetly be too large...

Feedback for Firstwave:

Thank you again for your submission. First of all, it is too short (and a bit too fast). I appreciate that you were trying to keep file size low, and it was just a first draft etc, but we would definetly want something that plays for a bit longer then that.

Also, it just doesn't have the 'WOW' factor we were looking for, nor does it have a professional enough feel. The 'star streak' that moves around in the different scenes doesn't really tie in with the theme & look we were hoping for.

The logo needs to be larger (not necessarily the whole way through).

We like the way you have incorporated the words 'innovative' etc, but feel they are not predominant enough.

The music seems to suit the theme of eygpt, but again, not sure if it actually ties in with the movie.

I don't want to discourage you, it was obvious you put some thought and effort into your submission, it's just not what we are looking for. We would like to see any other ideas you might have.

Also a note to any other entrants (if there is any ), while it is a nice touch, there is no need to add a background or special border to the animation.

Hello, I am back just to let you know that I am working on this -- hard.
With "traditional" Flash, I couldn't get the "impress-factor" so please bear with me, as I'm currently illustrating some frames to go into the Flash.

My idea has Ra rising up from "nothingness" to call forth his all-reaching godly powers to make a grandiose entrance: fade to logo.
I'm so very sorry it's taken me so long, but I kept scrapping all my previous ideas, as they just weren't "good enough".
If you could be so kind as to keep your hair where it is, I will post something soon for your review.
Thank you, kindly.

A little taste of the style I have in mind.
Kinda rough & sketchy -- chalk pastels, I think they'll lend themselves nicely to the Flash. It'll look like perpertual motion.

Hi Kimber,

I think I like where your concept is going. Are you able to perhaps do a little more without doing too much work? As great as your picture is, I dread going to my client with just a description and a picture after all of this time.

I have to go to my day job, but I'll be working on this again tonight. Things should move along, now that I've got a clear direction.
Glad you like the concept.
Kimber.

Please forgive the haste at which this was tossed together, but it's just to give you a rough idea. I didn't have much time this morning. I'll post a more finished movie tonight.

I would like to submit this as my idea for your intro.

RA BUSINESS SOLUTIONS

I was unable to get the EPS file to work properly, and I realize I'll need to clean up the logo & text if this design is chosen.
I re-used some ideas from the NoGoodIntro, ie: the thunder clap and the lightning bolts. If you'd rather I lose them, just say the word.
Please advise.
Kimber.

That certainly has 'Wow' factor in my opnion Kimber. And you used glyphs which I was hoping to see! It's early evening here now so I won't be able to give you the client's feedback until at least tomorrow.

Thank you for your work.

Talking Include me on this.

If the contest is still open I would like to participate here. Something great is cooking in my brain but I will need a few days to build it all together.

Till then...
