home loan logo & header for $200

(Admin code added by Palmer - 0G816633U)

Hi Designers,

This is my 4 contest and very happy with all your work.

This contest is for a logo and a header combined into a header and the prize is $200.00. The domain is www.Mortgages4SoCal.com and is brand new. It is going to be another website for Home loans, mortgage refinancing and home improvement loans. It will be a Southern California only marketing plan hense the domain name Mortgages 4 So Cal.

Please create logo from the domain name and I do not need a graphic icon to go next to the name just make the text name a logo. I am open to anything but I was thinking of the word "MORTAGES" in a bold all caps font and the "SoCal" in a script font but you can try anything you want. As for colors I was thinking of green, yellow and blue as they have the cool southern California feel but open to your ideas.

As for the rest of the header I want it to have a picture that represents southern California like maybe a beach or a street lined with palms trees or something like that. So when you look at it you think southern California. In additional to the logo I will need in the header graphic

1. our toll free number 1-800-529-2834
2. Buttons for “Apply now”, “The Loan Process”, “About Us”
3. text saying “Home Loans for Southern California”

The header width will be 750 wide and the height will be a maximum of 150. Please make the file size as small as possible as it will need to load fast. It can be a JPG or GIF, wantever looks best and load fast.

For delivery I will also need the logo by itself so I can use it for other things such as business cards and such.

The contest will end on September 10th

Questions welcome

Thanks,

Dennis

Hi Amanda,

Very nice work and it matches all the specs I gave. Can you try to make the "4" more notice-able? Also use more of a bolder block letter font for the word "mortgage" please.

Great start to the contest,

Dennis

Brain - I like the #2 layout better. I also like the picture of the house as we do make home loans so that is a nice idea. I do not realy like the black text or the outline around the text.

ScriptFatory - Over all I like it except the "Mortgages 4 SoCal" fonts. Can you try others. Also I do not like the outline around the text and the ".com" is to big

Thanks

Different font and different stroke on the outside of the font. The ".com" is reduced in size.

ScriptFactory - The fonts still do not get me but lets do this. As the contest grows closer to the end if I feel that you are one of the ones I like I will ask for a revision that way I do not waste your time. Thanks

Lonely Rabbit - I like the top one better as you can make-out the wording better. I really do not have any ideas to change right now. thanks

Other designers keep them coming as I still am very open to your ideas.

Submission #3

Dennis, Changed the layout, but "upped" the logo a bit. (logo done in vector)

Size is 750x150 and 44 kb

What do you think?

Thanks,

Luc - Entry #1 - I like the simple look of this but I do not like the "SoCal" font and I think the "4" needs to stand out more. Also I think we want the toll free phone number to stand out more as most people will use that to call us.

Luc - Entry #2 - It is to busy for me and it is hard to vocus/find on the improtant parts such as the URL and buttons.

Brain - I do not like the added "mortgages 4 SoCal" in the blue box. I still like your entry #1 the best if we could just loose the outline around the text and maybe change the font but the layout is good and the text placement is good also.

Thanks,

Dennis

Brian - Looks much better. In an effort to save you your time would this be ok with you. We can leave it as is for now and if I choose your design could we make some slight changes?

If there are any other designers that want to enter please let me know.

Thanks,

Dennis

Since the contest only has a few days left I thought I would give you my thoughts on which entries I like best and why. This does not mean that only these entries are the ones I will be looking at to win but it gives you an idea where my thoughts are and which entries are currently on the top of my list.

The top 2 entries are

NVOKE - Second entry dated 8/30
I like the colors and it is simple. You can at a glance see out toll free number and what we do. To make it better if you could replace the plam trees on the right with a picture of a house or row of houses. Right now I am a little worried it looks to much like a travel site instead of selling home loans. The letttering on the buttons needs to be more clear to read. Maybe just larger text would do it.

Luc - The first one dated 9/3
Again I like the simple design that clearly shows our toll free number and domain name. Some ideas to make it better. Enlarge the word "mortgages" a little and make the "4" a different color. Get rid of the "www.mortgages4socal.com" at the bottom and make the words "Home loans for Southern California" a little larger. We want the customer to understand within a glance at the site on what we do. About the pictures maybe it would be better to swap them. Put the pictures of the houses on the left side and the palm trees on the right. This will make the houses stand out better and the palm trees not as much.

--------
Lonely Rabbit
Since I have not replied to Lonely rabbit yet I will do it here. Thanks for all your entries and I like the 2nd entry of the first set of entries on the date 9/5. It has both a house and the plam tree. To make it better try this. Make it higher more like 150 high. The logo you made at the very end of the entries by itself, I like that house around the words. Put that logo in the left side of the header in place the the current one. I know it is much wider then the one you have now but I think you can make it fit. Remove the phone number on the right and intergrate the bar you have made for the 2nd set of entries dated 9/5. The top 2 entries have the same bar. It has the 3 buttons and says "Questions, Comments, call us now" and the toll free number. Sorry I have so many changes but I do like your work I just like little parts of different entries.

If you have any questions please ask,

Thanks,

Dennis
