Logo for Coffee House/Bistro, $400
(Admin code added by Palmer - 011371053T)
I need a logo quick for a upscale coffee house/bistro concept- concept is similar to Panera Bread. www.panerabread.com Deadline is 4/23/05.
The name is: Black & Brew
Coffee House & Bistro
I would like the full name included in the logo. The focus should be on "Black & Brew"
The logo should have the following qualities:
1. Upscale
2. Freshness
3. Mix of modern and traditional styling
4. Fun
The concept is targeted at young to middle age professionals. We will serve pastries and coffee drinks similar to Starbucks. Lunch will be served from 11-2p.m. and will consist of sandwiches, soups, salads, and paninis. Thurs thru Sat nights we will have live music (blues, jazz, acoustic), gourmet desserts, and we will serve wine. It will be in a downtown location. Please take all this into account while designing.
As for color, keep it simple-nothing too crazy.
Other than that, be creative and have fun.
Thanks!
Chris McArthur

Hi Chris,
You said similar to "Panera Bread" ... Do you have an image for us to see what it looks like? Thanks.

I was just mentioning that the concepts are similar.

Sometimes you just have to stop and smell the coffee!

Hi Chris,
This sounds like a fun project. You said "quick"... Do you have a deadline in mind?

Hi Chris,
I played with the letters, since i think they will be the integral part of your logo and would help it be easily recognized.
Here is work-in-progess. There will be a logomark that goes with the logotype to further emphasize the effect of the logo as whole.
I would be glad if you provide me with some feedback to nourish the creative process.

This also, is a top choice. Very clean, crisp and strong. My only fear is that it looks like a tech logo, maybe too modern. What do you think?
Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback Chris.
Not really sure how to answer that.
I went with your criteria:
1. Upscale
2. Freshness
3. Mix of modern and traditional styling
4. Fun
I used a fairly traditional (looking) font and paired it with a pretty modern looking, stylized coffee cup. Though I must say that the "fun factor" may be missing in my design.
If you have any ideas I'd be more than happey to work on it. In the meantime, I'll see what I can do with it on my own.

Thanks!

Designers,
I am taking the first round of logos to the investors for their selection. If you want to make any last minute alterations, now is the time to do so. I will come back with some feedback on what has been posted so far.
Thanks......Chris

 Hey there, Chris
I couldn't resist but to show this mock-up.
*Note : Also I don't know if it is clear from my post, but this is not a font.
I took the time to carefully hand-draw each letter so that it is more delicate and more distinguished.
Sincerely,
Galin Kastelov

It is nice work, definitely a top pick. My only critique would be to replace the "and" with a stylized "&"
Thanks!

I like it, but I'm not so crazy about the font for "Black & Brew." Could you send me some with different fonts?
