[Project Complete] Effexis Software - Software Splash Screen ($150)

(Admin code added by Abby- 2BF66953PD512791T)

Hello,

I need a software "slpash screen" for an application called "Sequence Diagram Editor"

I would like a much more professional version of the attached splash screen, but please only use "Sequence Diagram Editor" without including the version number (1.5 in this example.)

Please use the same dimensions as the attached image.

Please include a copyright notice "Copyright (c) 2004-2005 by Effexis Software, LLC. All rights reserved." somewhere in the image

I will need it in .png and .gif formats.

Also, if possible, please keep the lower left-hand corner of the splash screen in a solid color (or white) since I place the user name/company name in this area.

If this requirement would affect your design too much, I can move the user name off the image as well.

Let me know if you need any additional information.

Do you have a logo or anything for "Sequence Diagram Editor"?

Also, the image is 388px x 215px, should that be the final size?

Is the software industry specific, or is it more like a Visio product?

Thanks!
Carl...

I'll give it a try this weekend, do you have any screenshots or any links for more info?

Hi Carl & cazeyzman,

Sorry for the delay in responding. I thought I had subscribed to the tread...

I don't have a logo, I'm attaching an image I am displaying in the about box. It has the icon for the software in the upper right hand corner.

I'm also attaching the Effexis company logos if you think they would fit somewhere into the splash screen.

Regarding the size, this is the size I'm currently using, but feel free to make it bigger if you think it would look better

You can find more information about the software and a couple of screenshots at the following URL:

http://www.sequencediagrameditor.com

The software is geared towards software development and telecom/cell phone companies. It is not as generic as Visio.

Sequence Diagrams are a type of UML software design diagram used to design software applications. It shows messages being exchanged between different parts of a software system. The boxes at the top represent the components, and the horizontal arrows back and forth represent the messages.

UML is an acronym for unified modeling language, which is just a way to represent software designs using diagrams.

Telecom/cell phone companies also use them to design the message exchanges between the cell phones and the base stations. In that industry they are typically called MSCs (message sequence charts)

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks again,
Rodger

Alright Rodger,
Let's this started
Notice that the splash screen is much bigger than what you have suggested in you very first post, but I can scale it down of course.
Looking forward to your feedback.

Hi PixelMaster,

It's a very good start. I like the inclusion of the screenshot in the image.

Maybe make the company logo smaller (about half its current size?) flush to the right like it is now.

It is too big to use as a splash screen right now, how would it look like at 50% to 60% of its current size?

Maybe the logo won't need to be reduced once to whole image is scaled down?

Thanks,
Rodger

I had your file open when I received the e-mail notification
I'll reduce the sizes and post an update. Is there anything else? Maybe you have some elements that you want added? Credits, Username...
Thank you.

Here is my entry.

If set up as a transparent GIF, it will give the illusion of coming out of the page at you.

Hi PixelMaster,

I like the new smaller size better. I'm still thinking a smaller company logo would look better for this.

Regarding the user name details, I usually generate these dynamically and just write them on top of the image at run-time. So they should not be part of the final image.

Other parts look good.

Hi Carl,

Looks good. I like the 3-D look. Just a couple of requests:

1) Please take out the "V 1.5" text, I'm going to be using this for multiple versions. Just "Sequence Diagram Editor" would be find.

2) For the arrows, I realize the way you have them looks cool, but I would prefer the arrow tip to end right at the vertical lines instead of going past them. It's just that it would be more consistent with the software.

3) If you can, please move the dashed arrow down a bit. Centered between the first arrow and the white square would be the best.

Everything else looks really good.

I'm not sure about this last thing, it may or may not look good, but I'm just wondering what the design would look like if the gradient went from a darker "purply" color (like decimal RGB 138,33,177) to the yellow. It just might make the "Sequence Diagram Editor" letters stand out more. What do you think?

Same comments regarding the registration information, I would be generating these myself on top of the image, so they shouldn't be present in the final design.

Thanks again for your entry,
Rodger

Rodger,
Here's the updated version with a smaller size Logo.
If there's anything I can do to improve the look so it fits your needs even better, please don't hesitate to ask.
Thank you.

Hi Fabian,

Thank you for your entry. I like the size and style of it, but I'm not too crazy about the binary digits in the background. Any other ideas of what to put there?

Thanks,
Rodger

Exclamation Software Splash Screen v2

It's quite inspiring for me, so here's another one.
A bit abstract.

Hope you'll like it.

Best regards.

Hi Carl,

Thank you for making the changes to the arrows, I like them better now.

After comparing the two versions, I like your original color scheme better, please revert back to it.

Also, I like the "glow" effect around the edge of the image, except around the two yellow boxes. It makes them look kind of blurry. The yellow boxes looked better in the previous design (without the glow).

Everything else looks really good.

Thanks,
Rodger

Hi brainstorm,

The abstract designs are interesting, but I'm not sure they are really appropriate for this type of application.

Thanks for your entry.
