TBD - New logo for Arabian horse farm $200.00
(Admin code added by Palmer - 86V76632KK059752F)
This is my first time using this website, just found it today.
I have a client located in Australia that needs a new logo for his farm.
The farm name is "Forest Hill Arabian Stud"
We are looking for something very elegant that could be used on new website, but also print and embroidered on clothing. Colors are not important, we can do that in Photoshop. Would like something in a vector format, i.e. eps that it will work in a variety of formats.
I am enclosing a version of the old logo that was done many years ago and also a photo so you can get a feel of the farm. Eucalyptus trees are very prominent at his farm and could maybe be used. If using a horse head, has to be very stylized "Arabian type". Please do a google search for examples.
Regards,
Scott Bailey

Hi, Scott, and welcome to DO
You may want to expand your brief a little so that we know a little more about the farm before we start. Here's an example set of questions which encompass what we would like to know: http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/...ead.php?t=7819
It would be very helpful if you answered at least some of these
I also have a question of my own: what's the hierarchy of the name? That is, should we keep it in one line like this:
Forest Hill Arabian Stud
or can we break it in, say, two lines like this:
Forest Hill
Arabian Stud
and also, what's the "main" part of the name and what's the one that can be considered "secondary"? Like, for example, can we set it up like this:
Forest Hill
Arabian Stud
Thank you in advance

yes it can be on 2 lines, and Arabian Stud can be smaller for sure.
Thanks
Scott

more feedback
Project Summary:
This is one of the more important farms in Australia. They have been in business for 30 years and the logo as you can see was done quite some time ago. I really wanted to test this site out to see what type of input we would get in a new design. I hope people will just be creative and do something unique.
Audience Profile:
The audience is Arabian horse owners and breeders.
The type of logo that I would like to see, is something very elegant, not too "corporate" looking. Arabian horses are very beautiful animals with a very long history and these farms like to represent that in their work.
I would like to see a vector based logo, colors don't matter, but a very next gold is always classic, can even be a textured gold. For sure need it larger enough for print as well as the web. A design could incorporate an Arabian horse head possibly stylized or just an outline. Arabian horses again are very unique with a chiseled type head and large eyes. Please google for any examples, or I can send them if necessary. A design could also use a Eucalyptus tree as well, since that is very unique to Australia and to this farm.
Regards,
Scott

Hi Jonathan, I think that is very nice for the first go. I like the horse head, very stylized yet still very "Arabian" looking. Certainly a very modern and updated version of his logo.

Hi Kassi, the logo is very nice, but the head is not of "arabian type" if ou look at the logos above you will see what I mean. Needs to have that dish in the head. But i like it.
Fabian, great job. I love the look of it. Very stylized.
Even if we don't use these for this client, I maybe be able to use them for someone else. Again, great job everyone. I love this website :-)
I will get my client's feedback and get back to you.
Scott
Paula23, again really nice job. I actually like them both.

Scott,
Do you have a deadline for your project? If so can you let me know what it is so that I may add it to your project title.
Thank you so much,

Sorry for the delay
I am sorry for the delay, my client has been slow to respond. I am going to try and sell a few of these logos to prospective clients, Paula please try and rework your idea for a new client, Windrose Farm is the name, and we just need to use the horse and add a rose in somewhere. Hopefully this one will be much easier.
Thanks everyone
Scott

Hello Scott we are confused, are you choosing Paula as the winning designer? You can't change the name of the company as it is outside of the original project scope. To purchase her design you would need to contact her privately to negotiate the purchase of logos that weren't chosen.

that is fine, I just saw some nice logos here and would like to try and sell them to other people. I would of course still pay for each logo we use, but it would require a name change for each new person I am trying to sell too. I represent over 250 farms, and I thought most of these designs were really good. So should I contact Paula separatly?
Again first time using this site, just trying to get the hang of it.
Thanks
Scott

Yes Scott, if you want to purchase any logos feel free to contact any of the designers privately to arrange payment.
Regarding this project, would you be interested in choosing one of the designers to receive the amount offered or are you open to new entries? Our policy is every competition has a winner whether the design is used or not, somebody needs to be chosen as the "winner".
Maybe you can politely nudge your client to move forward with this project. Is that a possibility?
