[Designer Chosen] - Logo for "Shed Systems Inc." 200 clams!

(Admin code added by Palmer - 226294599X917474U)

O.K., New company looking for a strong unique logo.

Name: Shed Systems Inc.

Product: Custom on site built storage sheds, garages, shops, potting sheds, tack rooms, tool shops, etc...

Audience: middle age to late 40-50ish well to do, can afford to build custom either no time, skill, or knowhow, hence me!

Like: the cingular dude thing, Unique, reversed(color vs background) The simple logo of www.alpeng.com, The apple logo stuff like that. Words through, under or to the right preferably or no words, Initials? posible..

Dislike:Anything clipart! I CAN DO THAT, picture of a shed, clipart roofs, retarded boring designs,

This will be the logo for everything. Literature, contracts ads, vehicle signs, crew shirts, brochures, print ads etc... Need cool...color options, liking blues or reds to burnt orangeyishlike. also look good in BW print. I have some illustrator files I have doodled to give an Idea

TheRoof part and theY part are mine and fiance's initials" A &Y" if you are wondering what that thing is. I gave up when a friend said it looke like a thong or texas lonhorns so I figured I would leave it up to the pros. Thanks All

I'm liking this direction, simple, works good BW. maybe something with the words to the right and shadow shifted left, or a line separating name/tagline. anything possible with the initials SSI as an object or A & Y (for nostalgic reason) Abstactly?

Color: A little more orangey?

Font: Not diggin it too much, somthing similar but sarif

Thank you for the submission, I cruised through other logo forums and have seen you work and i am impressed

Pracus:
Too "random company" i think, I know it is dificult to convey online but looking for a "PACMAN" logo simple, whimsical, easily recognizable

Color: Looking for more orangy but not too bright, not too much brown

Font: Liking the font but something sarif is more my taste

Have seen and like some of your designs i have seen also,.

Please ask direct questions if lost on this one, It's my first time and winging it so far, Thanks both

My closest competitor is www.tuffshed.com, a much bigger company that does similar work, needless to say I don't want the same logo.

By the way tagline is "custom site built storage" but not necessary smashed in with the logo

Note: Logo and text will be used separately and attached
Thanks, eagerly refreshing screen

not liking 03s at all, sorry! I do like version 2, 1a and 2 though

I am thinking my color choices are throwing you a for a loop
play with some colors althought red scemes and blue scemes seem to appeal to me, red 165 to 1787 column

Blue 632 is a current favorite
Do not have to necessarily mix the two red/blue are hard to mix it seems and looks odd to me

Move the solid box on the inside to the left
Type: Bottom of shed systems inc even with bottom of legs in Baskerville old face
Tag line stretching from left leg to the "c" in inc. and maybe a line separating the logo from tagline( longer than text)

Pracus: really like your design for bonefish... thats what I like, recognizable, etc..

approaching from two agle here obviously but if you got an idea way out there that doesnt follow my specifics I can be changed.

I see a lot of builder/contractor cards/logo and the look the same to me, I'd rather not get stuck in that same rut and stop me if you think thats where I'm headed.

I like angles sharp or obtuse, odd and some rounded soft stuff, my little drawing says it more or less but it doesn't work
Thanks fellas, anyone else feel free also

I am liking this idea, a little retroish and has a easily recognizeable shape and eye catching, color is nice too..

Happen to have any other ideas along the same line I love it but my business partner doesn't see it as "the one" yet

All,
Sorry to all, the recent events in New Orleans affected some family so I was gone for a while. I am able to respond to to all your posts.

Ruari: The "S" in the shed is exactly not what I was looking for but thank you for your ideas.

Kassi,

Like the colors but the "S" in the roof, although intuitive, is too common among builders, trying to break the normal logo mold here and again www.tuffshed.com is my closest competition, so an "S" in a house shape is pretty close to their "T" in a house shape...

Aaron,

I am digging the font alot, I think it's on the money.
The design is cool, like the mirrored effect, boldness and clean easy recognizeability of it but, it looks like a 52 to me and again in a shed/house looking thing.

Anything more abstract?, does not necessarily have to have initials

I didn't read this first, I hope these answers can help...

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
-Shed Systems or Shed Systems Inc. (caps. not important)
What type of product or service do you offer?
Custom built storage buildings, sheds, garages, pool buildings, gazebos, playhouses, playgrounds
How long have you been in business?
First year as a company "Inc'd". I have been doing this for about 6 years between general contracting new home construction
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
recognizeability, (you see the logo and know who/what it is)
What are your long term goals?
Small, long term sustainable company, less than 30 employees
first and most recognized in the market, keep customer base with some growth, but dedicated to custom buildings and quality

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
mid age, moderate income, some liquid cash for niceties and will not buy a cheap a plastic shed for a new lawn tractor, etc...Word of mouth now mostly, contractor referals and client referals

Who would you like to add to your audience?
Same audience just more and slightly broader aspects with plahouses, playgrounds and gazebos. looking for submergence into website, ads, possible radio spots, expand to more areas and a couple more crews to fit demand.

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
I like the cingular guy logo, abstract, easily recognized even
without name (Trucks/equipment/shirts)

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
burnt orange or blue (colors are not locked in so let the ideas flow)

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
DEFINATELY NOT an initial in a building shape (look at any builder logo and you see what I mean) last resort, possibly

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business? I listen to what you would like, give you options, answer questions and provide you with the best possible solution for your needs, with personality.

What is your tagline or slogan?
custom site built storage (Got an idea for a better one?)

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience? confidence, quality, functionality, exactly what you wanted
Where will your new logo be used? everything, trucks, logo, shirts, literature, stationary, sign etc...

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
Closest is Tuffshed.com (Expected, boring, common,) although easily recognized
List competitive URLs if possible
www.tuffshed.com
What sets you apart from your competitors? First and Only one in my area so far, trying to set name, logo and service as the benchmark as the first and the best!
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
We build exactly what you want !

Aaron,
Liking the direction, a padlock(key type)? maybe, suggesting security, I am seeing the new image kinda looks like the front of a bus or truck to me though.

The front of the bus concept isn't quite what I was going for...it's actually a double-meaning padlock/shed combo.

I'll retool it.

Alex,

What is the deadline for your project so that I can add it to your title?

(I hope all is ok with your family too).

Thanks,
